Serbia Seeks Independence

The first people to revolt were the Serbs. At first the leader wanted them to fight the ottomans and have a war. It turned out not successful, but the good thing that came out of it was that they then had a sense of identity. The Russia support helped the Serbs to be able to win autonomy or self rule in the Ottoman Empire. The ottoman would later agree to a formal independence.
