What we learned

- Overall, it was found that women who live under more restrictive laws and/or in restrictive environment do, in fact, have less personal choices and liberties extended to them (esp. regarding their bodies and their interactions with others)
- not fair to say all women of a religion or culture are oppressed, nor to say that they even consider themselves oppressed.
- New laws being put in place, many areas untouched women's rights
- No matter how small or large, every step towards change starts with education
- Nancy Alain: intl edu very important for improving lives of citizens in that area
- Teaching people tolerance, worth, value, and important trade skills
- Changing the way that people think about women starts with the individual.
