Qur'an

The Qur'an is the primary writing and the sacred text of Islam. It is the highest authority in both religious and legal matters. It is believed my Muslims to be a flawless record of the Angel Gabriel's revelations to Muhammad from 610 until his death in 632. It is also believed to be a perfect copy of a heavenly Qur'an that has existed eternally.

The Hadith is second in importance only to the Qur'an. It consists of all the laws and regulations of the Islamic faith. It also consists of all the teachings of Muhammad, his words and deeds, and the various aspects of Islam. It is a text that transfers knowledge from one generation to the next about Islam.
