- Northwest Passage (1508), as well as another to repeat Magellan's voyage around the world.
- He was the first European to explore the mainland of North America (Canada's Coastline) and the first to search the Northwest Passage
- He tried to sail from North America to Asia by sailing west trying to find the Northwest Passage
