3.) How did the Great Depression affect Texans?
Once deep rooted prairie grasses were gone, nothing was left to hold the dry Texas soil in place. Afterward the dust began to blow. The dirt destroyed crops, killed animals, and damaged people's eyes and lungs. The Great Depression did not affect the Texans at first, but when the Depression spread worldwide, Texans were unable to sell cotton at normal prices. Some Texas business closed and Texans lost their job and were out of jobs.
