Cell wall composition
Halophiles are considered Gram-negative so they are structurally more complex. They lack peptidoglycan so instead they have glycoproteins to maintain their shape. Their cell walls lack protruding O2 molecules, and they also they don't use fatty acids to build their membrane phospholipids.
