In the story "Urashima Taro and the Princess of the Sea", there is an example of foreshadowing. It was when the princess told Urashimo Taro not to open the box she gave him. At this point in the story, we knew that he was going to open the box and a bad result awaited him. When Urashimo opened it, something bad did happen. He turned 300 years old!
