"Eldorado"
Poe's poem is about Sir Walter Raleigh's attempts to find the "City of Gold" otherwise known as Eldorado. His first attempt was hopeful because he believed that he had the coordinations correct on where this magical city would be. Poe then talks about Sir Walter Raleigh's second attempt when he was older and how the journey was less pleasant.
