Cardiovascular system parts:
- blood vessels (to transport)
- blood (to pick up and deliver)
-heart (to pump)

Blood vessels:

arteries: carry oxygenated blood AWAY from the heart

veins: carry deoxygenated blood TOWARD the heart

capillaries: width of a hair; allow oxygen to pass into and carbon dioxide to come out of the bloodstream

HEART:
- organ made of four chambers -- 2 atria, 2 ventricles and valves
- pumps DEOXYGENATED (without ox.) blood to lungs FIRST
-pumps OXYGENATED blood throughout the body SECOND
