Create electricity?

Electricity can be generated from almost any source of energy. At a hydroelectric power plant, the energy source is river water as it rushes over a dam.

To generate Hydroelectric energy

* the water from the dam flows down into the penstock

* then goes to the generator where the turbine spins the water to get electricity.

* then goes to the outflow and into the river.
