Yes there actually is! I know this a lot to take, so I will give you a second to breath. Alright, I talked about dark energy, but there is also dark matter. And dark matter does not emit electromagnetic radiation, thus being invisible. It is an important part of galaxies forming. What happens is that luminous matter gets attracted to dark matter, making the mass tremendously large and collapsing into a black hole.
"What? Is there anything else that we cannot see, but is claimed to be real ?"
"Wow, that's amazing. And terrifying. Mostly amazing though."
Oh, wait until you hear about the two kinds of dark matter.
"Right when I thought this would be over...."
