Cons of antibiotics
Bacteria use natural selection to evolve from the antibiotics we use against them. The different types of transfers allow them to become resistant and then share the gene directly with other bacteria and in their offspring.
This will keep happening if we continue to over-use antibiotics and do not finish each prescription. When you stop a prescription short, the bacteria has a chance to become resistant.
There is always the possibility of creating a superbug that has no cure. MRSA is an example of a disease they are not able to cure through the overuse of antibiotics.
