The War Begins
The 2nd continental congress met at Philadelphia on May 10th 1775. The decision they had to make was choosing who was going to run the New England army.
John Adams came up with the idea of the continental army. They chose George Washington to lead it.
Important details of the Battle of Bunker Hill was that the British General William Howe ordered an immediate attack on Breed's hill. Then Putnam fired back. The importance was that 1,000 British troops were killed or wounded, nearly half that many Americans died.
