Significance

Significance: This amendment is significant to people specifically the people that made more money since they had to pay money to the government. We still have to pay taxes today so the legacy lives on. Money gets taken out of checks and sometimes there isn't a lot of money left over, so it can cause people to be late on paying their bills and mortgages.
People back then were angry that they had to pay a tax and give the government some of their hard earned money out of there paycheck.
