Great Grandfather
Tomas and Maria had 7 children together. Their oldest one, Philip I, is my great grandfather. He had a 6th grade education and worked in a cigar factory with his siblings. He realized that he wanted to earn more than $5 a week, so when prohibition came around, he sold alcohol illegally in his speakeasy called the Yellow House. He also owned the Dew Drop Inn, Though illegal at the time, it helped him provide for his family.
