Their role in America

When Tomassino and Maria came to America, they stayed in New York for a while working small jobs, such as digging ditches. They soon heard about the cigar factories in Tampa and moved down here. At that time, they only spoke Italian, but soon were able to pick up a little bit of Spanish and then finally English.
