King was the most important person in the Aztec society
-he lived in a great palace with gardens, a zoo, and an aviary full of beautiful birds
-was in charge of law, trade and tribute, and warfare
-king had help from tax collectors and judges, which were Aztec nobles

Nobles

-tax collectors and judges were also known as Aztec nobles
-noble positions were passed down through family, from fathers to their sons
-young nobles went to special schools to learn different responsibilities
-they would face as government officials, military leaders, or preists
