James Watson is a geneticist who is best known as the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA in 1953 with Francis Crick. Watson used Franklin's Photo 51 to create a model of DNA. Watson used the idea of a double helix to create this model. Now that people could look at this model of DNA, people wanted to know how cells reproduced and how DNA replicated itself.
