Who was he?
Akbar
Akbar, the Mughal ruler, was born in October 1542. At the age of 14, he inherited the Mughal empire, which at the time was only a collection of fiefdoms. However, by the end of his rule the Mughal empire stretched from Afghanistan to Bengal and all the way south to the Godavari River. His empire was strong and united, all because of his abilities as a ruler. He was an excellent military strategist, a wise and just emperor, and a patron of the arts. Obviously, his rule became known as the Golden Age of the Mughal empire. He is most known for encouragement of equality of all individuals, evident by his motto "peace with all". In fact, most of his subjects called him "Guardian of Mankind".
