Slavery: The state of being a slave.

South Impact: Slavery in the South was said to be important because of huge plantations. Agriculture was important to them because cotton was booming so more slaves were traded.

North Impact: The North didn't think slavery was important because they needed skilled workers to work in factories. Industrialization was important to the North so they needed smart workers and Slaves were not on the top of their list.
