Risk Factors:
Unchangeable risks- some risk factors of Osteoporosis are just completely out of your control including:
- Sex: Women are more likely to develop this disease
- Age: The older you get, the more greater the chances are of getting Osteoporosis
- Race: There is a higher risk of getting this disease if you are white or of Asian decent.
- Family History: Having someone in your immediate family with Osteoporosis puts you at a higher risk of getting it, especially if there is a history of hip fractures.
- Frame Size: Men and women who have tiny body frames have a higher risk, this is because they have less bone mass.
