Who is at risk?
Other persons in your family who have Osteoporosis puts you at a greater risk of getting it!
- People with thyroid problems: Too much thyroid hormones may cause bone density to decrease. Thyroid problems can happen if your thyroid is over active or if you're taking too much medication to treat an over active thyroid.

- People with low calcium: this decreases bone density intensively.
- People with eating disorders: Most people with Anorexia are at a great risk of getting Osteoporosis because if they are not eating enough, they are not ingesting the right amounts of calcium the bones need.
- People who have had Gastrointestinal surgeries: These people are at greater risk of getting Osteoporosis because when you reduce the size of your stomach, this makes it harder to absorb the correct nutrients you need to make your bones nice and strong, and healthy.
