Founding of Jamestown - In April 1607, the expedition reached the mouth of what we know now as Chesapeake Bay. They sent 104 men to, settle the area around the bay.
The starving time- occurred during the winter of 1609-1610. There was a drought that kept them from farming there food. There where also problems with there other food sources. There was no supply ship that arrived. Then finally when the colonist where all mostly sick three supply ships helped them with food and the colonist started thriving again.
Pocahontas- she saved John Smiths life after he was captured by Opechancanough. She also brought food and water to the colonist after there fort almost burned down.
John Smith- the leader of Jamestown. He explored Chesapeake Bay and the river surrounding it. He was always seeking a supply of food for the colonist. He was captured by Opechancanough and was about to be executed when Pocahontas stopped the Powhatan Indians. He was wounded when his gunpowder exploded on him. He was sent back to England for treatment.
John Rolfe- was a settler that went to Virginia in 1609. Virginia had no financial success but with his experiments on tobacco they had there first profitable export.
