Working hard

For someone to be successful in the future, they must work hard to get there. Nick's family was able to become successful over time in America. A quote from The Great Gatsby that supports this is, "The Carraways are something of a clan, and we have a tradition that we’re descended from the Dukes of Buccleuch, but the actual founder of my line was my grandfather’s brother, who came here in fifty-one, sent a substitute to the Civil War, and started the wholesale hardware business that my father carries on to-day" (Fitzgerald 6). The Carraways had come to America with little and had been able to build up there name. Nick's ancestors started a business that soon made them very successful. The song "Lose Yourself" by Eminem describes how one has to work hard and take the opportunities given to be successful (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xFYQQPAOz7Y). Eminem raps about how people must seize the opportunities and work hard at them so they can become successful. To become successful, one has to work hard to doing so like Nick's family did and like it is described in the song by Eminem.
