Speaker/Point of View
"I let my neighbor know beyond the hill;
And on a day we meet to walk the line
And set the wall between us once again.
We keep the wall between us as we go."
For the duration of this poem, the speaker is one of the neighbors that doesn't want to keep the stone wall up. He sees no reason for the wall to be kept up since there are no cows to be maintained, only trees. The speaker thinks of his neighbor as if he is from a different type of old-fashioned era.
