Why do human voices sound the way they do?

When we talk our vocal chords vibrate. This creates a buzzing sound. Men's voices are lower than women's because they have bigger and wider vocal chords. This creates a deeper and lower sound. The reason when we get sick that our voices sound different, is because our breathing is different. The buzzing sound that the vocal chords make has a pitch. Pitch is used to give our voice melody. The pitch also helps us express our emotions. When we shape our sounds, it makes the human voice complex. Different structures of the larynx is the reason people have different voices. Other things that make our voices different are our facial features. Some people clench their teeth or have stuffy noses.
