Terrestrial Planets

The four inner planets listed in order are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.

Common characteristics of the four inner planets are that mercury is the closest to the sun, so it reaches very high temperatures. Venus has a very dense atmosphere with much carbon dioxide and other gases making it extremely hot, with a surface made mostly of sulfur, rock, and magma. Earth, is our home planet and is the most habitable in the solar system. It's atmosphere is made up of nitrogen and oxygen and is covered in lively plants and animals. Next up is Mars. Mars is believed to used to have been habitable. It's a desert like planet with ice covering the top and bottom of it.
