Blanks

A blank must be included. This is a standard and it is prepared with no analyte. It contains all the other reagents used in the preparation of the standard solutions and is treated in exactly the same way. Blanks can be used to zero instruments and can used to check/monitor the quality of reagents. Blanks can be used to establish detection limits.
