Calibration curves
A calibration curve is used to establish the relationship between the input and output of a measuring device. It can be used to determine the concentration of an analyte in an unknown sample. E.g we want to determine the concentration of Iron ions in a solution. The technique UV Spectroscopy can be used but the instrument measures absorb acne. Thus, the relationship between concentration and absorbance must be determined. A calibration curve is used to express this relationship . It is a plot of output vs input.
