The Outer Core

Don't you think it's amazing that the outer core is the only layer of Earth that is liquid!? The outer core is made up of a molten iron and nickel mixture (called alloy) that sunk to the center of the Earth billions of years ago.The outer core has a depth of about 2,200 kilometers. The temperature of the outer core was discovered to be 1,000 times hotter than it was expected. The temperature of the outer core is about 9,032°F. What makes our magnetic field is because we live above a giant metal ball at the center of our planet.
