One symbol from the story "Come Again in the Spring" is the birds that the old man was feeding. I think these birds symbolize life. I think this because when Death (the dark figure) came, if he got to close to one of the birds, it flew off. This shows the difference between life and death and how life and death are opposites. Another piece of evidence is at the end of the video. The end of the video is when the old man has successfully warded off Death for another year and is surrounded by birds circling in the air above him. This shows that the old man is basking in the light of life and will live for another year. The last reason the birds symbolize life is that whenever the old man was recalling his memories, he was staring at the birds outside of his window. This displays that the birds are like his lifeline, showing him his memories and what happened in his life.
