One example of foreshadowing from "Urashimo Taro and the Princess of the Sea" is when Urashima arrives back at his village. When he returns, he sees unfamiliar faces in his town and experiences strange feelings. This is a clue that something bad will happen or will be revealed. Readers can usually figure out that over time, people die and other people will move in to their house. Eventually, an entire town will be replaced with a different population. In addition, when a writer says that the character is feeling unusual, it often foreshadows that a problem is coming. For instance, in the book "The Serpent's Shadow" by Rick Riordan, a character named Carter Kane says, "There was this tingling in my gut." Soon after, a monster suddenly appeared and tried to kill him and his friends. This displays that uneasy feelings are usually followed by problematic situations.
