Location of Volcanoes

Volcanoes are usually located at a divergent boundary or convergent plate boundary's subduction zone. Therefore, the plate motions are able to provide the mechanisms to form magma.

A subduction zone occurs when two plates converge on each other and one plate goes under the other.
