Psyche wandered around looking for her lost love. She ran into Ceres who said she couldn't protect her from Venus and the only thing to do was to become her servant, so she went to become Venus's servant. Venus wanted to ruin Psyche's life, well what was left of it. She was getting revenge for all the worship Psyche was getting and for burning her son with hot candle wax. Cupid was up in the tower recovering from his burn. Venus first made Psyche sort all the grain before the end of the day. Cupid sent the leader ant of the anthill who helped her grain by grain. Venus was outraged that Cupid helped her and she didn't do the work. The next day she made Psyche collect the Golden fleeces of the sheep by the river. On her way there she saw a reed that spoke to her and told her to wait until noon time when the sheep go into the shade and the wool will stick to the bushes and trunks of the trees. So she did this and returned to Venus who claimed she had help and didn't do it herself.
