Islands are created by a process called Soil Building, which is the S in STEW. They can also be formed by underwater eruptions and earthquakes. Islands may become home to human life and be a tourist attraction as well.
A valley is a depression of land in between mountain ranges or other obstacles. It usually contains a river. If the valley is inhabited, it creates shade for the humans due to the low elevation. It also provides fertile soil for farmland.
