Ghiyasuddin Tughluq (1321-1325)
He was the founder and first ruler of the Muslim Tughluq dynasty (of Turkic origin) in India, who reigned over the Sultanate of Delhi (Sep, 08, 1320 – Feb, 1325). He has been the founder of the third city of Delhi called Tughluqabad. He recovered parts of the Deccan and Bengal which had broken away in quarrels. He was killed when a victory pivillion collapsed on him, on his return from a battle. It was said that Ghiyassudin's son Muhammad had deliberately planned his murder, but no one has able it to prove it.
