Biotic Factors
Elephant -
Elephants disperse seeds by eating them, transporting them, and then spreading them through their dung. Because of their large size they are able to transport many seeds.
The main biotic factor in the Savannah are the animals.
Cheetah
Zebra - Zebras are a main food item for the carnivores that inhabit the same ecosystem. Without zebras, the populations of lions, hyenas, Cape Hunting dogs, leopards, and even crocodiles would be affected. The zebras dung provides fertilizer for new plant growth.
Gazelle - Because they forge, mountain gazelles affect the plant communities where they live. Also, gazelles being available, it's a primary consumer, affect predator populations who eat the gazelles. Also Hunting for gazelle skins, meat, and trophy horns is common so they provide for that.
Hippo - Hippos are providers for humans, they are used as a source of food and are hunted by people for their teeth and meat. Also hippos feces provides nutrients for fish in rivers and lakes. Without hippos their would likely be less fish.
Cheetahs are top predators so they help control populations and take a lot of the food. If they were to become extinct there would be an increase in the available food for other predators.
Giraffes eat from the tall trees and bushes which helps control their growth. Giraffes are sometimes a source of food for animals such as lions.
