Emily Dickinson

American Romanticism

Emily Dickinson's works of literature qualify as American Romanticism for several reasons;

1. Emily's works were usually based around imagination and intuition which went against basic reason, hence the romanticism movement in the late 18th century and early 19th century across America and Europe.

2. Emily Dickinson's works of literature were often unrealistic and expressed strong emotion which was the center point of the American romanticism movement.

3. Another reason why Emily qualifies is because her works were also based on subjective perception. They revolved around personal feelings or tastes, Emily was very fascinated by death, nature, and occasionally love.
