Decomposition & Nitrogen Cycle

Decomposition is the process of breaking down dead plants and animals. Decomposition is important to the nitrogen cycle because it breaks down dead plants and animals and takes the nitrogen from these dead plants and animals and puts them back into the cycle. Also without decomposition, dead animals and plants would begin to take up the physical space in a ecosystem.
