What is Nuclear Energy and how is it made?
Nuclear energy originates from the splitting of uranium atoms in a process called fission. At the power plant, the fission process is used to generate heat for producing steam, which is used by a turbine to generate electricity.

Nuclear power is generated with fission and fusion; the splitting and combining of atoms.
• if you split or combine an atom, a large amount of energy is released
• the energy released is in the form of heat
•this heat is used to boil water, which is then passed through a turbine to generate electricity
•this means that nuclear power works together with hydroelectric power!
