What are NUCLEAR ENERGY'S advantages over FOSSIL FUELS?
Nuclear energy has many advantages over fossil fuels. Here are some examples.
Advantages:
• Fossil fuels produce greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide when burned. Nuclear energy does not.
•Nuclear energy produces very large amounts of energy at a time. Therefore, it is more efficient. It is 60,000,000 more efficient than coal.
• Nuclear energy is also very reliable. Other alternative energy such as solar and wind energy only operate in certain conditions. Nuclear energy can work in any time of day or weather.
• Nuclear fuel is very cheap. This is mainly because it requires a fairly small amount of uranium to produce a lot of energy. This is because the uranium can trigger a chain reaction that causes many atoms in one area to go through fission.
