Scenario 3: This raja's empire is near the birthplace of Siddhartha Guatama. He believes strongly in the religion of Buddhism. What you can do is extend an offer to help him spread, the idea of Buddhism and it's concepts. Another past kingdom in the Mauryan Empire time period was ruled by the ruler Ashoka. He also had a strong belief in Buddhism. To help promote the idea of this religion, he built pillars all over his kingdom with rules and concepts of Buddhism on them. Tell the rajah that if he negotiates with you, then you can help him build these pillars and more people in both of your empires will practice Buddhism more often. Then these concepts such as ahimsa and nonviolence will be promoted just like he wants it. In addition, his people think he is a very good ruler. Be sure to tell him that it will be a "joint leadership" and his people will still be happy.
