Simple machines like pulleys, incline plains, and levers are very use full. When loading a truck an incline plain allows you to not pick the object up and less distance to get from the ground to the truck.

When you use a pulley you are pulling on a rope more with gravity then just picking the object up.

When you pull a lever depending on what it does could do pretty much anything. It can help you move something that you normally couldn't move because you are putting less force into something that's needs a lot. Simple machines make the job easier.
