Seasons are caused by the tilt of earth on it's axis. Summer for the northern hemisphere starts in June, fall starts in September, winter starts in December, and spring starts in march.
The seasons are not the same in the northern and Southern Hemispheres because while one is haveing summer the other is haveing winter.
Seasons
Earth's position affects the temperature because when the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun it has it's cold seasons but when tilted toward the sun it has it's warm seasons.
