Knights made up the class below lords. They were highly trained soldiers who fought from horseback in heavy armor.

Most knights were lesser lords who were trained from an early age by a lord. Upon receiving knighthood, they were given a small plot of land and some serfs to work it. In return, they made up the cavalry in their lord's army.
