They are organized into villages with chiefs in each village.The chief is determined by his ties within the community.The group that controls the politics are the village chief and the heads of the family.
Economy-
Since the Bamana live in villages they rely on subsistence farming. They create what is necessary to survive in daily life.
They sell what they do not need in urban centers and local markets.They are crafters and consist of potters, weavers,sculptures, and leather workers.
They trade with each other and other villages.
