The Bamana ethnic group lives in the central part of Mali in the savannah.Most of the bamana people are farmers. Their main crop is millet although they also grow tobacco and maize and various other vegetables in private gardens.The farmers raise cattle goats and sheep.They also hunt. The farming duties are shares between men, women, and children.They do not work on Mondays because it is their market day and rest day.Marriage is important.
