Signs and Symptoms

Some signs of Gigantism would be the obvious, the child may be larger than most children of the same age. Some parts may be larger than others by proportion. When dealing with gigantism the symptoms may vary, common symptoms include large hands and feet,large heads,lips or tongue, prominent jaw or forehead and also coarse facial features. But the symptoms the child experiences may depend on the size of the tumor in the pituitary gland. As the tumor is growing it presses against the nerves in the brain. It causes most people to experience nausea,vision problems, and even headaches. Other common symptoms include:
-sleep problems
-deafness
-weakness
-excessive sweating
-thickening of facial features
-Delayed puberty in boys & girls
