The Story...

Endymion was a young shepherd whose
job it was to watch the flock late at night.
Because of the time that he performed this
task, he was often staring up at the night
sky (in fact, he's credited in Greek myths
as being the first human to watch the
movements of the moon!). Every night,
Selene, the Goddess of the Moon, would
drive her chariot across the sky, and one
night, she spotted Endymion in the fields
all by himself. She fell in love with the
beautiful shepherd at once, watching him
secretly every night as she drove her chariot.
