Vince Depizzol Account
Vince Depizzol, a Mullen student, is one of the strongest and best people that I know. Along with these traits he is an inspiring Catholic at Mullen. Some proofs of God that he talked of were the argument of efficient cause, the argument of motion, and the argument of gradation. He also talked of the Our Lady of Lourdes and the various miracles that the world has seen. (Depizzol, Vince. "Does God Exist? And Why?" Personal interview. 28 Jan. 2014.)
Vince's greatest proof of God that he has discovered is the desire of the human heart. He says that we as humans all strive for something greater in life and our heart leads us to want joy. When we have joy we normally have success and to have success in life, Vince says you need a close, tight relationship with God and that points to Gods existence. Vince used the saints as examples of this proof.
Vince then told me a story that involved a personal account that he had with God. One day, he was walking out of adoration and a woman gave him a book saying, "God instructed him to give this to you." He read the book and it covered all of the issues that he was having in his life word for word. This really makes me believe because a close friend of mine experienced this amazing event.
Vince Depizzol for me provides some circumstantial and some direct evidence of God's evidence. His views on the 5 arguments can point to that common theme of design and that points a higher being, probably God. But his testimony regrading the book that he received is direct proof of God for me. There is no possible way that a random lady could just diagnose and solve all of his problems in a book and that is unexplainable. That is directly from God, ie. direct proof of God.
